Becky grew up in Alexandria, MN surrounded by many of Minnesota’s 10,000 lakes. In the summer the population of Alexandria doubles. Minnesota is known for lake cabins. Summers spent on the lake water skiing, fishing, wakeboarding or simply cruising. Everyone flocks to the “lake” in the summer in Alexandria.
Even though Becky was surrounded by the beautiful north woods and lake life she has always struggled with depression. Her family had a complicated history with alcohol. Her family folk-lore connects her ancestors to the notorious Al Capone and the bootlegging operations he held in Minnesota. Becky wanted to stay far away from this potentially inherited trait; and had first hand knowledge of the harms watching family members succumb to the devastating effects of alcohol abuse. She vowed at a young age that this would not be her and even participated in the local high school students against drunk drivers group.
Sadly, she did fall into the same family trap of addiction hoping to disconnect from her patterns of depression. She didn’t listen to her intuition and didn’t make good decisions. Unfortunately, it took Becky 30 years to find relief from her depression and subsequent addiction. In 2019 Becky’s life made a 180-degree shift when she started ketamine infusions. She finally felt like she could function each day and not worry about the debilitating sadness that enveloped her. Becky was very happy working her dog walking business and raising her son as a single mom. She was rebuilding her life and wanted to be a champion for those struggling, those unseen by polite society.
In 2021 Becky had a medical issue; and to pursue treatment she was asked to take the covid vaccine. Once again, she didn’t listen to her intuition and three days after her first Pfizer vaccine she noticed a striking difference in her hormones and mood. She was cycling between being agitated and feeling completely desolate. Becky felt dysregulated as if her nerves, blood cells, oxygen-her internal wiring was having traffic jams. She felt like the vaccine caused her to have “psychosis” like she couldn’t find homeostasis. Her body was either overreacting or under reacting and constantly switching gears. Her period which had been regular before her vaccine became constant-the bleeding would not stop. It was relentless and continues to be so almost 3 years later. Becky’s doctors did not take her complaints seriously and downplayed her symptoms.
Against her “better judgment” she chose to receive the second shot. It made her symptoms remarkably worse! Becky wondered why she hadn’t listened to that nagging feeling inside telling her body that something was terribly wrong? Why didn’t she just take a pause and evaluate how much her first vaccine had worsened her depression symptoms and caused such heavy periods?
Her relationships with friends and family started to struggle; including her treasured relationship with her teenage son. Becky wasn’t able to control the huge emotional swings she was suffering from. It was like her nervous system had a short circuit. This broke Becky. Becky’s son had suffered from a lot of trauma as a child. His dad had struggled with mental health issues and unfortunately passed away at a young age. She didn't want to add to his suffering.
She decided to take action. In December 2021 she met Suzanna, the founder of Team Humanity, on a zoom meeting with a Minnesota lawmaker. This legislator hosted several Minnesotans who had been harmed by their covid vaccines and were struggling to get medical attention. She was extremely anxious during this call, even to the point of dropping off the call early; but she knew she needed to make people aware that these shots were not safe and effective for everyone as promised. Becky now is part of MN Team Humanity’s legislative team working to inform our lawmakers that the risks are real. While the shots are marketed as one size fits all, the reactions are varied and complex.
Three years into Becky’s injury she is still struggling to find help. Many doctors have acknowledged her health issues; but are unable, or unwilling, to diagnose her with a vaccine injury.
This didn't stop Becky from looking for a cure and compassionate doctors. In addition she kept having this deep unwavering feeling that she should schedule a mammogram. Her intuition was telling her to check into the excess hormones that were still causing her to have long lasting intense menstruation cycles. Becky listened and scheduled an appointment.
The mammogram revealed she was positive with hormonal breast cancer; specifically Her 2 Invasive carcinoma. This type of breast cancer is caused by excess estrogen and unregulated hormones. It is a very aggressive type of cancer. Thankfully they found it in its early stage. Cancer of this type would have likely been stage four had Becky waited to detect it based on a breast exam.
Becky’s daily quality of life can feel devastating. Between the cancer treatments and severe, debilitating depression she is struggling to complete day-to-day tasks. MN Team Humanity and her connection to the injured and the non-injured who are supporting her is a lifeline. Becky understands what it's like to be marginalized and appreciates those who willingly stand with her and others who are vaccine injured. When her body has the energy and her mind is quiet, she joins in the fight. She writes to our lawmakers and shares her powerful story.
Today, Becky works at a group home helping disabled adults. This work is essential to Becky’s mental health. Her favorite patient is a woman with Down’s Syndrome about her age. She knows she isn’t supposed to have favorites but can’t help it. Helping others helps Becky heal. It gives her a purpose. Rather than sitting at home wallowing in her pain, sadness, and debilitating health issues, Becky uses her energy to help others.
Each and everyday she gets up determined to do good and focus on others. MN Team Humanity is so lucky to have Becky on our team. She isn’t afraid to share her story with our lawmakers letting them know that vaccine injuries are real, and not rare.
Thanks Becky for bravely telling your story. I love the message of trusting our intuition. I, too, have at times gone against my intuition and then something happens. It’s as if my body was trying to get my attention but I ignored it.
So thanks for this important reminder to be still and learn to trust the wisdom of our bodies. They don’t lie. Prayers to you and your continued healing. ❤️🩹 💜
Thank you for this story. It is one we hear often from women and has been largely ignored. Your intuition served you well. I pray you are able to get treatments that stop any further cancer growth and you that your body is restored. Cancer is another topic that is being connected to the vaccine manufacturing process but there are very few injury stories discussing what led up to it. Thank you again for your brave telling of your story.
