Vaccine Injury Leads To A Call To Political Service
Brandon is a father of 3 young children and lives in Taylors Falls, a small town about 35 minutes from Minneapolis, Minnesota with his wife Jolene. Taylor Falls and the surrounding area near the St Croix river is known for Wild Mountain ski resort, paddlewheel riverboat tours and hiking. Brandon and Jolene’s home town city calendar includes events like the annual Lighting festival and Wannigan Days-think Lumberjack breakfast, a parade and a senior croquet tournament. Taylors Falls is idyllic.
Prior to the pandemic Brandon and Jolene were like all young parents; busy running their kids around to various activities and working long hours to support their lifestyle. They loved their home town, knew most of the neighbors and felt connected to the community.
Brandon worked from home for a company based out of New York and loved being able to see the kids off to school each morning, and be there in the afternoon to throw a football with them or kick around the soccer ball. He was a healthy, young father who had tons of energy and felt like nothing could get in the way of him and Jolene achieving their American dream.
In 2021 Brandon’s company chose to mandate the Covid vaccine. They issued this mandate based on CDC guidelines and employees were told they would not be allowed to travel to visit clients if they did not get vaccinated.
Brandon was very hesitant to get vaccinated. He wanted more time to research this novel product that was rushed to the market and discuss it with his doctor. Unfortunately, Brandon ran out of time and booked an appointment at the Minneapolis convention center in April of 2021. He chose to receive the Johnson and Johnson shot simply because it was only one shot.
Within 7 hours of receiving his vaccine Brandon felt very lethargic and had intense leg pain. For one week he was like a “zombie” roaming around his house unable to function. Three weeks after his shot he developed a large lump on his right collarbone and a rash on the right side of his body-the same side he received his shot.
Brandon went to the doctor regarding the lump and they told him to “wait and see” if it got bigger. In the meantime all of Brandon’s joints on his right side from his toes to his shoulder started aching and were painful to move. He noted that he couldn’t throw a ball to his children.
Four weeks after his Johnson and Johnson vaccine Brandon had his blood tested for antibodies. Brandon had not had Covid. His doctor encouraged him to get his booster at this time. Brandon declined. He had been perfectly healthy until his shot and was now struggling with fatigue and arthritis like symptoms only on one side of his body.
At this point Brandon decided to work with a functional medicine practitioner who he felt would help him heal. After multiple blood tests this doctor provided an array of vitamins, minerals and herbs that have strengthened his immune system, cleared up his rash, and assisted with the fatigue symptoms. Brandon still has arthritis in all of his joints on the right side of his body. However, he and his doctor have a plan and are seeing positive results.
When interviewing Brandon he said, “God gave him a gracious lesson” with his vaccine injury. Brandon felt that his health autonomy had been compromised and was frustrated that he hadn’t listened to his intuition and chose to decline vaccination. He believed that no one should be mandated to make a medical decision and knew he wanted to find a way to undo what had been done to him.
Brandon started attending Taylor Falls’ government meetings. It occurred to him he couldn’t change what happened to him, but maybe he could prevent it from happening to his neighbors and community members.
On August 8th of 2022 Brandon officially filed to run for Mayor of Taylors Falls. His Facebook message that day states:
“Well. It’s official, I filed to run for Mayor of Taylor Falls this morning. I’m super grateful to my family and friends for all of their support and support I have received so far from so many of my fellow residents. I’m ready to serve the city and community of Taylors Falls.”
Here is a link to Brandon being interviewed at a candidate forum.
In November of 2022 Brandon became mayor of Taylors Falls. He had officially heeded God’s call and chose to put himself in a position where he could look out for his friends and neighbors. Brandon is all in on his mayoral duties including attending community events like Bingo nights, free lunch for veterans, and sitting in a dunk take during the Lumberjack festival.
Brandon is also affecting real change in Taylor Falls. His crowning achievement as mayor is passing a resolution that supports healthcare freedom. We have added a link to that document below.
Here are a few highlights from this groundbreaking legislation:
“Citizens are treated equally whereas, the rights of individuals to bodily autonomy, the right to individual healthcare decision making, individual liberty, freedom of association….
Whereas, the City of Taylors Falls recognizes the fundamental legal right of any individual to refuse any medical procedure, medicines or vaccinations, based on religious, medical or personal reasons….”
Team Humanity is incredibly proud to have Brandon on our team. He is an example of how to be a leader-to have the strength of character and the courage to do what is best for your neighbor and community.
Brandon’s wife Jolene is also a member of Team Humanity. Last August Jolene participated in the YWCA triathlon with 11 other non-injured members. We ran, bike and swam for our injured friends who used to participate in this event and other athletic endeavors; and now are unable to do so because of their injured bodies. We all crossed the finish line with one of our injured friends-holding hands, letting them know that we are always here for them, right by their side.
Brandon and Jolene crossed the finish line together with their 3 sweet children. Many of us were crying as we watched this family support each other and let the world know that the vaccine injured should not be ignored. Their lives matter! Their stories are true! They deserve acknowledgement!

Why does Team Humanity believe it is so important to support the vaccine injured?
We acknowledge that the Covid vaccine injured are real people. Real people who had a life filled with travel, work, friends, and loved ones before they were injured. A life that existed outside of their house, their bed and their pain.
This is why Team Humanity is sharing these stories. Somehow in the midst of all that has happened in the last few years people who have been injured have become “acceptable collateral damage”. When did this become ok? How is this ok?
Team Humanity believes that we are called to speak for the weak and the voiceless. We are called to tell our stories, gather those who are struggling, and offer them hope and help. We are called to pull those who are stuck in the shadows and darkness into the light.
How do we support the injured?
Team Humanity includes both the injured and non-injured; and we all take on various roles.
First and foremost we listen to each other’s stories. Everyone has suffered from some sort of trauma over the last 3 years. We have all struggled, felt sad, felt alone and need to share those feelings.
We need to acknowledge these hardships in order to heal.
Some of us have taken on advocacy roles, and contacted local and national legislatures to discuss the lack of government support for the vaccine injured.
Another group of members have harnessed their marketing skills and found support at public events like the state fair and community gatherings. We have discovered that wearing our t-shirts and holding up posters opens doors for conversation and connection. We have personally connected with 100’s of podcasters and asked them to share our stories. You can find links to these podcasts embedded among our Substack stories.
